My position on the Quran is irrelevant and would only serve to derail this thread. There are many which believe the Quran to be of God, that was my reason for pointing this out. If you wish to know, you can search my profile history, I have nothing to hide.
Yes you believe the quran is of God. L0L i knew there was something not right about you... seeing you also disrespect the shepherde.

Fair enough, but I need not defend myself against your false accusations. I'm not trying to use Quran in an attempt to support my argument in contradiction with the Bible, as you seem to do with this new Ignatius sabbath law. I simply do not recognize this new sabbath taking precedence over Torah and the words of Christ. The words of Christ in the Gospel point back to the Commandments in Torah, with direct quotes in reference to Leviticus and Deuteronomy, not the commandments of Ignatius. I do not know of any prophecies in the Bible that paint the Church in a good light, rather the opposite seems to be true. And in no way am I trying to Judaize, the Commandments in Torah were not only given to the descendants of Judah and Benjamin, but to all the descendants of Jacob, and to all outsiders that wish to follow them. Torah was given to all human beings, including yourself and @recure .

Please forgive my ignorance friend, this is new to me. I mean no disrespect to Ignatius, the early Church in general or anyone else. With respect to you, and @recure , why not start a thread on Ignatius to enlighten us about the early days of the Church? Even though I do not recognize this new sabbath law, it would be an interesting topic to consider. I suspect there are many who read this forum that would take interest as well.

When I was young I had a friend who was a seventh day Adventist. His parents would not allow him to go to movies or watch television. At the time I thought this was ridiculous but now I realize how wise they were.

Other conditions to being saved.

In this thread I've posted about and shown according to scripture how we are to be completely obedient to God to the minutiae because God is particular. I also posted according to the Bible that this kind of obedience that comes from the heart is not possible without God. The Bible promises that Christ will give us that power through the Holy Spirit if we completely surrender our will to Him. There are even promises for those who obey Christ fully. Obedience comes from a knowing, faithful, loving surrendered heart to Christ. No one is going to be saved for being obedient, you are obedient because you are submitted and are saved in Christ.

But there are other conditions to being saved in the Bible. We can't be fully obedient to God:

- if we are not converted;

Acts 3:19, "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord."

-
if we don't repent and confess our sins;

Acts 3:19, "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord."

1 John 1:9, "
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

2 Peter 3:9, "The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance."

Proverbs 28:13, "He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy."

-
if we don't love Him;

1 John 4:19, "We love Him because He first loved us."

1 Corinthians 13:13, "And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love."

1 John 4:16, "And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him."

1 Corinthians 16:14, "Let all that you do be done with love."

-
if we don't have faith;

Hebrews 11:6, "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."

2 Corinthians 5:7, "For we walk by faith, not by sight."

James 1:6, "But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind."

1 Corinthians 16:13, "Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong."

-
if we are not baptised by water and the Holy spirit;

John 3:5, "Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”

Matthew 28:19-20, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

Galatians 3:26-27, "For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ."

Mark 16:16, "He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned."

-
if we don't lead a committed Christian life where we study the Word of God and pray daily, go to Church etc;

Galatians 2:20, " I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me."

2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."

2 Timothy 3:16-17, "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."

Hebrews 4:12, "For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

Luke 4:16, "So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read."

All these conditions and more work together so that we get to know and love Christ more as we grow in Him and prepare for our eternal lives with Christ. They are only possible with our wills surrendered to God. Jesus is our example. He came to teach us how to live a surrendered victorious life. Jesus lived a life of total surrender. He is our example of how we must live in order to be saved. If we want to have eternal life we must live a life of total surrender.

We must give up our will so Christ can live out His will in us. When we totally surrender, we give up by recognizing that the only way we can have victory is by putting the focus where it belongs which is on God. He is the one who has to save us, but He can only save us if we surrender our will to Him. We must give our lives completely over to Him. We must surrender any and every cherished idol, vice, or sin to Him or we will be lost.

The question was what day is the Lord's day in Revelation 1:10.

Ignatius a disciple of John said sunday.

That's all.

Jesus plainly said that the sabbath was made for man and not man for the sabbath.

God commanded that it is unlawful to put people to work every day of the week.

Who cares what the Koran says about anything? This is a Christian country. We don't care about the Book of Mormon either. Time to start the Crusades again and get rid of the dead wood. No more love the enemy bs let's beat the plowshares into swords and teach everyone who is in charge. A scourge must take place and all who dare to question the authority of the Christian faith must be purged. Let's do it now while we still can. Onward Christian Soldiers.

Agreed. It does not mean that I follow the religion known as Islam, or the religion known as Christianity or Judaism. The scriptures have been written. The scriptures are a set of instructions given to us by our Creator. One does not need to follow a religious organization to learn about our Creator. I read the scriptures and apply them to the best of my ability. I strive to follow the ways of Christ, he is mentioned throughout the Quran.
Yes you believe the quran is of God. L0L i knew there was something not right about you... seeing you also disrespect the shepherde.
You implying there is something not right about me and accusing me of disrespecting the shepherd for holding a belief that differs from your own is a false accusation. This is strange doctrine for those that are unaware of the letters of Ignatius of Antioch because they are nowhere to be seen in the Bible. No disrespect was intended. On the other hand, your laughing for believing the Quran to be the word of God and saying you knew there was something not right about me is disrespectful.
The question was what day is the Lord's day in Revelation 1:10.

Agreed, as written and translated or mistranslated.
Jesus plainly said that the sabbath was made for man and not man for the sabbath.

God commanded that it is unlawful to put people to work every day of the week.
Agreed. But there must be one day of rest on the Seventh Day as God intended. Nowhere in the Bible does God or Jesus suggest that the Seventh Day should be replaced or forgotten.

This is one of the reasons why God Commanded to remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as he did when he created the universe. We can all agree there is nothing wrong with breaking bread on Sunday. We should all agree the Commandment of resting on the Sabbath must be kept because Jesus said to Keep the Commandments. Why do we believe in Jesus and so easily forget his words? Jesus said he was Lord of the Sabbath and added that it was not unlawful to do good deeds on the Sabbath because it was made for man and not made for the Sabbath. This new sabbath law from Ignatius, whether mistranslated or not, seems to have good intentions but is used by Christians to forget the Sabbath day, this is the problem. This Christian doctrine conflicts directly with the Bible in which Christ was referring to when telling us to Keep the Commandments. This could be one of the reasons why the letters of Ignatius are not in the Bible.

The Seventh Day, God Rests
Gen 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.
Gen 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
Gen 2:3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Sabbath Day, The Ten Commandments
Exo 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Exo 20:9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
Exo 20:10 But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
Exo 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

The Rich Young Man
Mat 19:16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
Mat 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
Mat 19:18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
Mat 19:19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Mat 19:20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
Mat 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.

Jesus Is Lord of the Sabbath
Mar 2:23 And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn.
Mar 2:24 And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful?
Mar 2:25 And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him?
Mar 2:26 How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him?
Mar 2:27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:
Mar 2:28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

A Man with a Withered Hand
Luk 6:6 And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man whose right hand was withered.
Luk 6:7 And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him.
Luk 6:8 But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth.
Luk 6:9 Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it?
Luk 6:10 And looking round about upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole as the other.
Luk 6:11 And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.

I wish to add this because I believe this is important...

To imply that a Christian such as @phipps to be a Judaizer for referencing Torah and the Commandments as Jesus did, is flawed and would also imply that Jesus himself was a Judaizer. Lets get this straight because I have seen other users on this forum use this against other Christians that were ignorant to the facts such as I was. This Judaizer argument doesn't make sense to be used against New Testament believing Christians that quote the Torah and the Commandments to support their argument...

As I'm sure you know, Ignatius of Antioch was against the teachings of those who did not accept the authority of the New Testament, the Judaizers. And against Docetism, the doctrine that Jesus only appeared to have a physical body and was ultimately of a celestial substance. I agree with Ignatius in this regard. I'm sure there are no Christians who believe in the New Testament to be in belief of this nonsense.

Best Regards

I have yet to see anyone mention the Branch Davidians who were ruthlessly slaughtered by the ATF which was a publicity stunt so the ATF could continue to get government funding which in turn led to the Oklahoma courthouse building being destroyed. And now we have a third term Muslim president who is also leading the most dangerous religious group of all time: the Branch Covidians whose main goal is to put all the unvaccinated into concentration camps, steal all our possessions, inject us all with fake poison vaccines and eventually kill as many of US as they can regardless of whether or not you are Christian, Muslim or whatever else. Then the Chosen people will live it up with robot slaves doing all the work. Who will be left to be sex trafficking victims that is the big question but I am sure they are working hard on that question with all our hard earned tax dollars which they don't really seem to need anymore what with the Federal Reserve being able to print money out of thin air. Hopefully Jesus comes soon before we all die. Is that too much to ask Lord if so I am sorry and will keep praying oh great exalted master.

This person is obviously losing her mind. Perhaps another victim of Covid Vaccination Fear Syndrome (CVFS) but then on the other hand it kind of makes sense.

You can't believe that God is the author of both the quran and the bible.

That is impossible... as Jesus is God in the bible but just a prophet in the quran.

I am the shepherde... and the way you try to tutor me is quite frankly disrespectful.

I wasn't trying to tutor you, just letting you know what I believe based on what has been written. I apologize if you feel disrespected, was not my intention. I do respect your God given right to decide what to do and believe. I do ask you to answer one question.

Have you read the Quran???

Not that i mind but it's objectively disrespectful.

Fair enough. Not much more I can say to you then. I stand where I stand, you stand where you stand. I leave you in peace.
