what a joke
the will make a POLL to decide if BT5 has to enlist or not

Minister orders a "public opinion poll" to resolve BTS mandatory enlistment controversy

Since Jin was born in 1992, he can only postpone his military service until the end of this year.

of course JN time is running out so they try everything to escape :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

who knows what Hybe will do to fix the results of the "poll". these guys have no shame at all
This is the safest way for them to run away from enlistment. The government and Hyb3 knows how great Armchairs are in voting and I doubt regular Koreans would pay attention to this poll so its a win-win situation. Hyb3 will rig the polls to "award" them with enlistment and the politicians can hide behind the poll.

[+131, -2] This reminds me of a 22 yr old that was the only guardian of his 7 year old brother. He was head of the family with no one else to look after him and had to put him in an orphanage until he concluded his military. The poor thing kept crying for his hyung not to go, it was really heartbreaking to see. The MMA doesn't even give exemptions to those who deserve it but they're trying to exempt celebrities who earn tens of billions of dollars a year?! A public opinion poll? Might as well give them special exemptions directly f*ck

Found this comment under the article. This is heartbreaking. This is the life of regular Korean men who aren't even allowed exemption under serious circumstances. They could just do the public service duty which is already considered easier but complete exemption would be a slap on the face of those whose lives have been destroyed because of Korea's enlistment laws. Even among celebrities I can think of at least 5 right now who truly deserved exemption but still had to complete their duty. This would be unfair for them as well.

Boys that suck and especially gin, are lying cowards
Doing everything possible to avoid the military for more of their lame ass music
Instead of doing their duty they sit around partying, playing kids games, spending romantic evenings with old men and secretly dating a pinkblack girl

They can run all they want but they must remember that those who run away from hardships and responsibilities are also unable to experience the growth and maturity facing hardships brings to a person's life. Hardships are God's way to make us stronger and teach us valuable life lessons. They are not something to run away from like a coward.

Weren't these the men who built their entire career out of a sob story about them being underdogs who had to face trials and tribulations to become the best??? if they keep releasing songs about their so-called "hardships" even after this they are going to get some backlash from Koreans who have to face the consequences of SK's unfair enlistment laws.

THIS a hundred million percent!!! Plus, the general population is going to want to kill them even more than they do now if they evade.

I would leave the country and get a burner phone. They want the fame and money without the other stuff that comes with being in their society. The law says serve, they have to. I think they could advocate for changes after they serve, to stop unfair conscription laws for everyone, but that's too much to ask for.

Regular Koreans know what it means to suffer, but btees has had a silver spoon in their mouths since Wings and Hyyh era. They don't know what it's like anymore. If the King of Kpop served, buzz your hair and wear the uniform. They can make changes for everyone after they serve.

lol yes, a public opinion poll

so the public decides if BT5 has to enlist or not..like some kind of fan voted award

some comment in the article:

  1. [+78, -3] So now we're making decisions about civic duty through polls.. if that's the case Yoon Tong who has a 30% approval rating needs to step down.. anyone including Defense Secretary who doesn't meet 50% threshold needs to quit their jobs

  1. [+56, -7] How can you poll something like that??! For how long does BTS think they can keep hiding behind public opinion? F*cking cowards... really
Polls can easily be rigged. These corrupt politicians have probably been bribed by Hy be to exempt BT$ and are just looking for reasons to justify it. Koreans won’t excuse them though, they are already past their sell date, what else do they have to offer? It’s not like they ever put out anything of high quality and lasting influence anyway. The Korean Gp don’t even like their music.

This the poll will be rigged to allow them to skip enlistment.

Mark my words this will eventually affect their artistic output. Great art has always come from the personal experiences of artists and if your personal experience only consists of partying hard and throwing money everywhere you are not going touch someone's heart from your music.

This but that goes double for hip-hop artists. There's a lot of artists that brag about women, clothes, jewelery and their wealth. The best songs are made about their pain, dreams, real experiences, and that's reflected in the top albums of all time. Tupac's best material came after he was released from prison. His mother was imprisoned much of her pregnancy with him, as a member of the Black Panther Party. One of his family members has asylum in Cuba because of something she was involved with.

He made the best music when he wrote commentaries on life. His life, people he read about, prison, and activism. Is anyone going to remember Dynamite? What can they sing about? Gucci Gucci Gucci? Nas wrote a letter to an imprisoned friend that always stuck with me. He rapped about life changing while his friend was in prison.
