Is that why you're reading the quran?

I don't believe in the traditional Trinitarian explanation. It's far too complicated when God simply sent His word and His spirit to do his will.

I'm reading the Qur'an so I can debate and understand Muslims without sounding like you.

If you want to learn Christian theology go to Christians not their opponents.
Only strong swimmers should try to swim against strong tides (of human reasoning).

What have you come to believe about the nature of God and the relationship between the Father, Son and Holy Spirit?

I believe in Trinity because He is complicated. Simple.

Damien is just messing with you guys. One can't do such a turn around in 3 minutes...

I didn't do a turn around lol. Sent you a pm. Thus far I don't believe in the Qur'an or the god of it

John 5:43 KJV
I am come in my Father's name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.

None of it yet has been congruent for me to accept it.

I applaud you for this. I don't care what God you believe in but the Trinity makes absolutely no sense and not believing in that is one step closer to God regardless of your religion.

I have this long biblical explanation to explain the non biblical existence of the Trinity only to explain God, his word, and his spirit.

I don't the verbiage to explain it is correct whereas the proof is there but the explanation isn't

I'm doing my own studying into Christianity and Judaism. I'm reading a Koren Tanakh to ascertain the truest translation of the Torah, and I'll be reading the Qur'an in time.

I'm not promoting Judaism here, but I listen to lectures on the YouTube channel 'Jews for Judaism'. Rabbi Skobac has some compelling explanations as to why the notion of the Trinity is not in line with true scripture.
Damien50
Damien50
It's not a biblical concept and brings about non biblical explanations to explain what isn't there. Jesus is first and foremost the literal word of God but the explanation of the Trinity is confusing and while the verses to show Christ relationship to God is there the Trinity is inadequate to explain it

I wish more Christians were honest like you. They pretend to know how the Trinity works and then when you question them on it they peddle backwards in confusion. Deep down I know they really can't wrap their head around it but long held beliefs die hard.

The explanation is just inadequate and wrong really. The word of God(Jesus) is God as much as our voice is us and there many verses to show the relationship between the two but when someone uses the Trinity definition to explain everything gets funky. I believe Jesus is the word of God but I'll never again say these are three entities that are separate yet equal because

There is one God who sent his word to guide us and be our intermediary and who also sent his spirit to provide wisdom and understanding.

Without the Trinity it's clear what the role of His word and spirit are with it it becomes a muddled affair.
