Not only quality but quantity also lol.
Just now, I added a few more sentences. So, keep an eye out for my comment from time to time. It is possible to gain weight significantly (I think he is hungry for fat and has listened to the advice of specialists; I do not trust him on this comment).

It's insane to see overweight women on fashion ads or commercials. Modeling used to have categories: petites, high fashion, athletic, swimsuit/bombshell, commercial or plus size. Plus-sized were women with curves, size 6-10, and above 5'9.

I don't mind seeing gorgeous curvy women on ads, but not overweight. It can trigger the mind of a young girl's. She can develop an eating disorder (binge-eating, bulimia, etc).

In the US, we're in the middle of an obesity epidemic. Since 2020, many people has gained weight because of the quarantine. Has anyone noticed more overweight models are popping everywhere since that time?

Being balanced is not allowed! ;)
Ha! No kidding XD.

I think there has been more of a push towards showing all body types in recent years.
Maybe somewhat, but if we look at the bigger picture, let's take in all the movies, tv shows, video games and app games, we will still see the same "perfect" image splattered everywhere..trust me, it's still there which is the point I'm trying to make.

Yes exactly! We are objects to them and need our labels then our behavior is predictable. As Biden said, "If you don't vote for me, you ain't black"
Thank you! Unfortunately this is still continuing and wish it would stop. I don't see the point of these labels. Pfft, Biden sure is a tool!

Could be the perfection angle is just to give everyone inferiority complexes so they are easier to kick around. And last but not least there is Satan who takes delight in degrading people anyway he can?

Possibly, yeah. It makes it seem that people aren't really sure of their self worth, anymore. They become too insecure and feel they aren't good enough. It's also sad how they just want to make money off of people.
That seems like something Satan would do!

Thank you, weight police.
I never mentioned how much weight a plus-sized model has to be. My mistake if I did.

From https://fixthephoto.com/plus-size-models-measurements.html

Though such requirements differ depending on the country, brand, and agency, there are certain numbers to stick to while searching for a job:
Size Requirements – the ideal sizes range from 12 to 14 if we are talking about print media. 18 is a perfect option for modeling and the numbers from 18 to 22 fit the bill for runways.
Height Requirements – height is one of the key measurements for a plus size model. If you are interested in high fashion, you need to be between 5’9” to 6”. Fit models are expected to be 5’5 - 5’9’. Agents seeking models for commercial modeling mainly concentrate on body and face type rather than height.
Body Shape – namely refers to the waistline, which must be 10” lesser than that of the hips.
The requirements for plus size male models are less stringent. As the standard model has a waist size from 29 to 34, a plus size colleague should stick to the number over 34.

I rest my case.

This is why I left this darn forum in the first place. People are too darn ignorant..
And Lalas, I have no idea what you're talking about LOL. Maybe it's the red herring to distract people from the other comments, if so, well played!
You didn't have to say you had no idea what I was talking about. It was very clear from your comments. After I read them, I made sure you didn't have much idea what you were talking about in them either. But on the other hand, you talk a lot; unfortunately, a great deal of idle chatter not only does not compensate for ignorance, but emphasizes it even more. Since it is particularly annoying to read the ignorant gibberish of a man whose attention has long been diverted to the smallest and most futile fireworks which cover up deep and essential questions, I read your comments very quickly, through a row; I barely read them to the end.

This is why I left this darn forum in the first place
Through some bot, AI, or maybe Spirit, do you write comments after you've already left? Is this another of your long-winded words, which are not covered by real actions; or is it some long-winded whine in the process of fulfilling your resignation?

I agree that they're still pushing a "perfect" image, despite the surface push of "body postitivity" for all bodies. I'm referring to actual paid models chosen, not random people, when discussing this.

Even though i searched for a while, i was unable to find the article i read before that said that even among large sized models they still choose a certain waist-to-hip ratio. To put it directly, they don't choose models that are only fat on the upper body or stomach with a small lower body. Fat models are fat all over, but the weight specifically concentrated on the hips and butt (and sometimes boobs).

Something else occurred to me, i think there is a eugenics component to this too. It's kind of obvious that the elites want us unhealthy, but it's also obvious to me that different people have either higher or lower tolerances to it. Sort of how with the v@x some drop dead in the pharmacy, some drop dead a year later after 3 boosters, some get different kinds of symptoms, etc.

Anyway, i think they do want to see how different people tolerate being obese. While researching the waist hip ratio thing i kept reading over and over how supposedly this waist hip ratio thing is a better predictor of health than bmi. This could just be modern woke "science" but they claim that women who fall outside ot this waist hip ratio are less healthy, irrespective to actual weight. But at a lower weight more women would be within this ratio, it's when the massive amount of weight starts packing on that it becomes apparent who doesn't fall within it depending on WHERE the fat goes, and possibly in the elite's eyes, is not fit to live.

All quotes are from

WHR has been found to be a more efficient predictor of mortality in older people (>75 years of age) than waist circumference or BMI.[10]
...
WHR has been shown to be a better predictor of cardiovascular disease than simple waist circumference and body-mass index.[13] The study by American Heart Association has shown that measuring waistline and comparing it to hip size might be a better way to predict heart disease risk than a widely used body mass index.[14

...
Women who have a combination of normal BMI and high WHR experience elevated cortisol reactivity to acute stressors and failure to habituate to repeated stressors, compared to women with normal WHR.[21]
...
Women with high WHR (0.80 or higher) have significantly lower pregnancy rates than women with lower WHRs (0.70–0.79), independent of their BMIs.[27]
...
Evidence suggests that WHR is an accurate somatic indicator of reproductive endocrinological status and long-term health risk...These investigators report that a 0.1 unit increase in WHR decreases the probability of conception per cycle by 30% after adjustment for age, obesity, reasons for artificial insemination, cycle length and regularity, smoking, and parity.[30][31]
Not only that, apparently according to "science" women who don't gain weight in the hips tend to have less intelligent children. So not only are we "ugly" our children are stupid too.

Using data from the U.S. National Center for Health Statistics, William Lassek at the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania and Steven Gaulin of the University of California, Santa Barbara, found a child's performance in cognitive tests correlated to their mother's waist–hip ratio, a proxy for how much fat she stores on her hips.[36]

Children whose mothers had wide hips and a low waist–hip ratio scored highest, leading Lassek and Gaulin to suggest that fetuses benefit from hip fat, which contains long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids, critical for the development of the fetus's brain.[36] In addition, evidence suggests that children of low-WHR teens were protected from the cognitive deficits often associated with teen birth.
There's also plenty of info in the above link relating to "attractiveness", but i had enough of that for one day...

_ _ _

Even though this is from a woke "fat positive" person, this person is sort of saying what I'm talking about, that there is a "right" kind of fat that is depicted as acceptable and not all body types are represented despite the surface claim of "body positivity".

This commenter acknowledges that even among thin women it's all about that ratio, and that medium sized women (even though size 4 is hardly medium, i would say) are not represented as much as larger women.

Regarding fat people being a protected group against hate speech. They don't seem to understand that if a group is a majority of the population they literally are not a minority.

How Obesity Affects the Human Brain
  • A meta-analysis published in 2010 summarized 26 different studies on this topic. The main conclusion of this analysis was that there is a strong link between lower IQ level in childhood and the development of obesity in adulthood.
  • In one Swedish study involving 5286 males the IQ level was tested at the age of 18 and again at the age of 40. At each testing, the BMI of participants was also evaluated. The results clearly show that individuals with lower IQ level have higher BMI.
  • Another study performed in New Zealand included 913 participants. Their IQ levels were measured at the ages of 3, 7, 9, 11 and finally at the age of 38. This study also concluded that lower IQ level in childhood leads to obesity. People with lower IQ level at the age of 38 were more obese than people with higher IQ level.
  • Over 3000 people were participating in a study conducted in the Great Britain. The subjects were followed for more than 50 years. Their IQ levels were measured at the age of 7, 11 and 16. At the age of 51, their BMI was measured. Their results show without any doubt that IQ level at the age of 7 can predict higher BMI at the age of 51. Also, the results show that BMI grows faster after the age of 16 among people with lower IQ level. Another study conducted in the Great Britain involved 17,414 individuals. The IQ level was assessed at the age of 11. BMI was evaluated at the ages of 16, 23, 33 and 42. The results of this study also confirm that lower childhood IQ level leads to obesity in adulthood.
  • Obesity alters the normal aging process by speeding it up. Research study conducted at the University of Cambridge concluded that obese people have less white matter in their brain compared to normal weight individuals. The brain structure of 473 individuals was investigated in this study. The data showed that the brain of obese people appears to be up to ten years anatomically older in comparison with the normal weight counterparts.
  • Another study conducted on 733 middle aged individuals showed that obesity is strongly linked with the loss of brain mass. Scientists measured body mass index (BMI), waist circumference (WC), waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) of participants and used brain MRI to find and identify the signs of brain degeneration. The results demonstrated that brain degeneration is more extensive in people with higher BMI, WC, WHR than in normal weight persons. The scientists hypothesize that this loss of brain tissue may lead to dementia, although there are no hard proofs at present.

Marketers are appealing to their widest ;) audience. Lane Bryant was (high?) fashion for overweight women. Now it has spread everywhere. Victoria's Secret went downhill when they added plus size models. They were selling a fantasy. It is difficult to maintain a model body. Adriana Lima said she doesn't even look like she does in the shows all the time. She switches her diet and work out two weeks before. Body builders change their diets a few weeks before shows too. Plus size is the norm and not a fantasy.

Fashion models show you what you could look like if you wear their clothes.

I don't want to look like this. The clothes are pressing into her skin. Can she feel her body is poking out of her clothes?

This brand accentuates feminine features. The clothes accentuate nothing on the plus size model. She may as well be wearing a blanket.

On the bottom two pics: where the heck is the middle ground? There's such thing as women between both sizes. Life should not be in black and white. Plus the first model is showing her stomach, something women should not buy into.
Alright last comment, after this, you guys are free to discuss whatever you want without me introducing and commenting. Clearly the message has not been well recieved so what's the point?
Have fun everyone!!

No one has mentioned breast implants which I think should be illegal along with the transsexual operations which are running rampant these days. And that shows how corrupt the FDA and the AMA truly are. Sad that some women have been brainwashed into thinking two grapefruit sized silicone bags cut into their breasts makes them happier. Sadder still are the pathetic men who would want fake breasts. I can spot them easy. The black model up above has them.

YES! THIS!

It's like the advertising is basically saying either starve yourself or give up and be a landwhale.THIS IS WRONG.

Whether we see it as a deliberate erasure of the middle ground (which seems likely to me, and I do thank the OP for bringing this issue up publicly), or as suggestive that once a woman gets tired of starving she should just give up and eat everything in sight, either way it's wrong.

Plus the first model is showing her stomach, something women should not buy into.
I agree. Where i live women of all sizes parade around the store with their stomachs hanging out and its so ridiculous. What happened to modesty and leaving something to the imagination?

Clearly the message has not been well recieved so what's the point?
:(

I always get a good laugh out of threads bemoaning the superficial images of commercials while ignoring the underlying messages. Laughs are intensified while I watch humongous tubs of lard "dieting" for their third "weight loss" surgery (in between advertisements for weight loss gimmicks).

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model denied entry to LA club because of her SIZE
It was dehumanizing': Plus-size Sports Illustrated Swimsuit star and her model pal slam LA club after they were DENIED entry because they're 'CURVY'
Two plus-size models have hit back at a Los Angeles club after they were allegedly denied entry by the bouncer because they are curvy.
Ella Halikas, 25, and Alexa Jay, 24, detailed their experience in a now-viral TikTok video last Friday, saying they were discriminated against at The Highlight Room in Hollywood.
'This story isn't really even about me or The Highlight Room. Like, yes, I want an apology, but it's so much bigger than that. This is about all the girls who don't have a voice,' Halikas told NBC News.
'Even as a Sports Illustrated model myself, I could not get let into a club because I'm a size 14. That shook me to my core.'
In the video, which has been viewed more than 1.3 million times, Jay explained that she had been invited to The Highlight Room for her friend's birthday and was waiting in line with about 15 other guests when she ran into Halikas.
'The promoter starts letting in the whole group of girls, and right when it gets to me, the bouncer puts the rope in front, looks me up and down, and says, "Yeah, not tonight,"' she recalled.
Jay thought he might be confused and pointed out that she was a part of the group that he was letting in, but he allegedly looked her up and down a second time and repeated, "Yeah, not tonight."
'At that point, it was extremely apparent what was going on and that I was being discriminated against because of the size of my body,' she said.
Halikas explained that she switched spots with Jay and calmly asked the bouncer what was going on and was also told 'not tonight.'
'I was like, "What do you mean not tonight? I'm so confused. Like I was just here for dinner before. Wait, what are you talking about?" He wouldn't give us an answer. We didn't know why,' she said.
'To be honest with you, we're tired of playing safe and we're tired of just letting this happen and not speaking up about it. This has personally happened to me three other times. I know this has happened to [Jay] and a lot of our curve friends as well. And it is not okay.'
Jay said the entire experience was 'so dehumanizing.'
'It was like we were literally getting looked through,' she recalled. 'People were watching and seeing what was going on, and no one was helping. These people were looking at us like we were scum of the earth. Nobody cared.
'Again, we have so much privilege and we need to come on here and make it known that this s**t is not okay anymore at all.
Halikas noted that they 'don't care' they couldn't get into The Highlight Room, but they want to raise awareness for size discrimination for those who don't have the platform that they do.
'Just because you might be a little bit thicker you can't enjoy a night out with friends? Like give me a f**king break,' she said.
The influencers urged viewers to 'stand up for what's right' and 'speak up when you see that something is wrong.'
'If you've experienced any type of discrimination like this, you know exactly how horrible and disgusting it feels, and we are no longer letting this fly anymore. We're holding these people accountable,' Jay said.
'So Highlight Room and any other club or place that discriminates people and fat shames them, please do better,' Halikas concluded.
Nearly 8,000 people have commented on the video, and many were inspired to share their own stories.
'Happened to my friend... our whole group left! That place is wack!!!' one TikTok user wrote.
'I am that girl who doesn't have a voice and I thank you both for this!' another added. 'It's happened to me and I just walked away and cried in private.'
'I am the lead singer of a band and one time the bouncer of the venue I performed at TRIED TO TURN ME AWAY AT THE DOOR OF MY OWN SHOW,' someone else shared.
In a follow-up video, Halikas and Jay shared that they had been contacted by the general manager at The Highlight Room.
'She talked about us having a meeting together, but we know that this is bigger than just one meeting where we get an apology,' Jay said.
Halikas explained that they want 'policy change' and 'training' to ensure that no other plus-size person will ever have to go through what they did that night.
They also encouraged others who have experienced size discrimination to share their stories on social media using the hashtag #NotTonight.'
'The amount of DMs and messages from women sharing similar stories of discrimination is absolutely alarming,' Jay said.
A spokesperson for the Tao Group Hospitality, the company that operates The Highlight Room, told DailyMail.com in a statement that it is 'aware of Ella and Alexa’s experience.'
'The doorman on this particular evening worked for a third-party promotion company and we’ve removed this individual from the door effective immediately,' the spokesperson continued.
'We have made several attempts to resolve the issue directly with Ella and Alexa and even scheduled a meeting within days to address their experience which they unfortunately cancelled.
'Our company does not tolerate discrimination of any kind. We are always appreciative of feedback on our operations and continue to work on how to improve our guest experience.'
