It seems that in the last few years so called "plant based foods" are taking up more shelf space in supermarkets. They always seem overpriced especially anything that has the word "keto" on it. For example I bought a little bag of cookies without looking at the price which wasn't visible thinking at most it would cost $2. I got home and noticed I had been charged $3.99. The weight of the bag was 2 ounces so that means they cost $32 a pound which even considering inflation is pretty ridiculous. I was going to return them but had the munchies so succumbed to temptation. They were very good and contained no sugar which I don't eat. I could easily have eaten two bags. But eight bucks for four ounces I could not justify this expenditure plus I don't like being cheated. But I digress. The main purpose of this thread is the way plant based foods are creeping in the market. I have always avoided veggie burgers but found a box of them at a healthy discount so decided to live dangerously and try them. They were the worst crap I have ever eaten. I tried everything, put a slice of cheese on one. Used a bunch of spices on another and even tried putting gravy on another but nothing helped. I wouldn't even expect a dog to eat this stuff and I know a cat would turn up it's nose in disgust. All I am saying is that if the elites or anyone else expect me to eat this stuff it's not going to happen. And why are they trying to pretend this crap is meat. Are people so stupid now they consider this is meat? I think it is a conspiracy to get people used to eating foods that even dogs don't like. And the crap is overpriced more than meat. I like vegetables as much as anyone else as a side dish but it will be a cold day in Hell before I become a green haired nose ring wearing tattooed Vegan.
