Try as they might, but if the law doesn't have Royal Assent, it's basically meaningless. As the Canadian Bill of Rights states the following:

"(a) the right of the individual to life, liberty, security of the person and enjoyment of property, and the right not to be deprived thereof except by due process of law;

(c) freedom of religion;
(d) freedom of speech;

As Rebecca Sheppard stated in a video from Stand4thee.com, when going to court to fight the covid lockdown cases, it's best to quote to the Bill of Rights because the judge can easily not rule in an individual's favour if an individual wants to claim protection under the Canadian Charter of Rights because it does NOT have Royal Assent, which means the judge can easily overrule an individual's defense. However, if an individual can prove that their basic rights have been revoked the CBoR, there's not much wiggle room for being charged.

Granted, they may charge people with alleged hate crimes and clog up our court system with useless cases to fight "antisemitism" provided the bill actually becomes law, but I'm not sure how it would hold up in court.

I read Matt Taibbi's piece on this and i was struck by the similarity to the arguments used in trying to get the UK bill passed(hiding behind kids). I couldn't help but wonder whether a single entity wrote both bills, then again, both countries already had Nudge Units/Behavioral Insight Teams ensconced within the gov'ts in preparation for the covid psyop. I don't think they'd clog up the courts, they'll simply deduct your (hate speech) antisemitism fine/penalty directly from your digital wallet until you get fed up and "get in line".
