"James Cameron compares submersible tragedy to Titanic sinking: 'I'm struck by the similarity of the Titanic disaster'"

I saw an interesting consp-theory that suggested the Titanic never sank and it was really her sister ship the 'Olympic' that was deliberately sunk in an insurance scam.
Apparently the Olympic's owners knew the Olympic would fail a Board of Trade seaworthiness inspection because it'd been damaged in an earlier collision with another ship, so they passed it off as the Titanic by painting the word 'Titanic' over the name 'Olympic' and arranging for the captain to deliberately sink it by gently hitting an iceberg so they could claim on the insurance money.
Not a passenger would be lost because the ship would stay afloat long enough for nearby ships to come to rescue the passengers.
However the nearby ships didn't realise the ship was sinking, so they stayed put til it was too late.
The only piece of evidence for the 'Olympic' theory seems to be this allegedly true pic taken by a submersible some years ago that reveals the letters MP where some paint had worn off, as in OLYMPIC-
