Yes, the Jews were God's chosen people in old testament times but only because they were relatively more civilised than the heathen tribes around them, so he had their backs because he planned to send his son there.
I mean, if he'd sent Jesus to North America they'd have scalped him in 5 minutes flat, and if he'd sent him to Africa they'd have quickly bunged him in the cookpot, and if to Australia they'd have met him with a hail of boomerangs.
