...the law isnt the answer to the worldliness and sin of today's wayward state of Christianity
There are many that insinuate that the law is the answer to the wordiness and sin of today's wayward state of Christianity. It is not the answer. The truth is that most professing Christians have never actually been born again. They don't need the law, because the law cannot deliver them or save them from the power of sin and their carnal desires. Only Jesus Christ and the holy spirit of God can... You can keep throwing laws at someone, yet if their heart still lusts after these things they have not changed and their heart is still filled with sin and imagining sin. They need to be regenerated by the holy spirit. These people who claim to be Christian dont need the law. They need to be pointed to Jesus and hear the real gospel. They need to get born again and filled with the holy spirit. Anyone who points them back to the law or tries to put them under the law does not know the gospel of Jesus Christ. I used to be an alcoholic and a porn viewer. I used to love worldly entertainment. Did the law save me or heal me or deliver me from these things and desiring these things? No, the holy spirit did! The law cannot save you. It cant heal you. It can only give you rules to follow. God and the holy spirit changes a human heart and deals with the root of these problems. The holy spirit performs internal regeneration where the law institutes external regulation. The law is a schoolmaster, or form of damage control and band aid to a deeper problem. The problem of sin and mans inherit predisposition toward sin, his very nature that is a slave to sin. Before I came to Christ I loved the world and my sin. It was only when I gave my life to Christ and came to him in repentance and faith knowing that he and he alone could save me was when I began to notice profound changes take place within my inner man. I began to find the same sin I once loved grievous and repulsive. I started to lose interest in such things. It was only in God and the things of God that I soon would find interest in. I didnt know it at first, but God was doing a work in my heart and changing me through the process of sanctification and regeneration. It wasnt until some time after this process that I began to fully grasp what it meant to become born again. It deals with the default predisposition of the heart toward sin and God... This is why it is folly and grave error to point professing Christians back to the law as a means to remedy the sin in their life when such Christians have never even heard the real gospel or been born again to begin with. The truth is that most who claim to be Christian are not saved and have never been born again, they don't have the holy spirit, because we grew up in a society where its a cultural norm to associate with said belief since infancy without there ever being an actual point and time of real conversion following a real presentation of the true gospel. The law cant save these people or even deliver them from sin. It can only point out there guilt before God to demonstrate their absolute need for Christ. It is a demonstration of the standard in which God will judge them on judgment day. Its entire purpose is to show man their lack of righteousness and their ultimate need for the perfect righteousness of Christ which is the only standard for being in right standing with God.
